Board Meeting Information & Schedule

The five-director Board of Education members are elected to four-year terms and serve without pay. The Board, on behalf of students, staff, parents and the community, holds itself accountable to the citizens of the District through Policy Governance. In fulfillment of this charge, the Board is committed to rigorous, continual improvement of its capacity to govern effectively through policy by defining its concerns in terms of values and its vision in terms of expectations.

The Board of Education has their monthly standing regular meeting the second Wednesday of each month at 6:00 pm in the District Office located at 155 Panther Way.

The Board of Education can also have additional types of meetings:

  • Work Sessions - This type of meeting is where no action is taken and provides the opportunity for the Board of Education to learn about particular issues, trainings, discussions, policy work, presentations, etc. Also, if 3 or more members may be present at an invited community event, i.e. City Council meeting, attend conference(s), or invited to attend a District event or meeting - Veterans Assembly, High School Graduation, Networking meetings to name a few examples.

  • Special Board Meetings - This type of meeting is where action may also occur and is posted the same as a regular meeting.

Agendas - We are required by law to post agendas for all meetings at a minimum of 24 hours in advance. Agendas are posted on the District website under the Board tab by selecting Agendas & Minutes tab as well as posted on the bulletin board in the entryway of the District Administration building

Official Minutes - Minutes are posted once they become official which they are voted upon at the next regular meeting. Once approved, they are typically posted within a few days of approval on the District website under the Board tab by selecting Agendas & Minutes tab.
